Hi,
I am about to use the c5505 ezdsp stick as a roadside acoustic sensor. I have interfaced the stick with a 128 Mbit flash memory over SPI and to a SIMCOM SIM300 GPRS modem over UART. I have powered up the whole circuit using 12 V Li-Po battery that supplies directly to the GPRS modem and supplies 5 V to the USB stick through a 7805 IC. I have written software for audio sampling road noise, bandpass filtering, detecting car horns after doing FFT in hardware, storing the data in flash, read data from flash and send to server over GPRS. Everything is running fine, thanks to constant help in this excellent forum.
I have two questions.
a) Can I keep the stick powered up with battery for long hours on the road? Has any testing been done on this product to see that it does not blow up if it is powered up too long?
b) If the stick stops running the loaded software after a while (I might detect ths if I do not receive GPRS data at my server), is reprogramming using CCS the only way to reboot it ? There is no reset button on the stick or anything equivalent, pressing which we can rebbot? Is removing the power supply and again connecting it another alternative to rerun the stored software?
Let me know.
Thanks in advance,
Riju
