AM335x Starter Kit and Profinet

Dear ti guys,

I would like to get a simple Profinet example up and running on the am335xsk TMDSSK3358 (AM335x Starter Kit) Hardware Board. (I have a simatic s7-1200 to test against)

Now, I found the "AM335x SYSBIOS Industrial SDK" which, according to documentation, only seems compatible to one of:
- AM335x IDK
- AM335x ICE V1
- AM335x ICE V2

So, is this SKD also compatible with the am335xsk ?

If so, is there anything I need to consider/alter/hack if using this SDK ?

If not compatible, what SDK / example should I use to get Profinet running on the am335xsk board ?
Could your please point a link to a good starting point ?

Dear Frederic,

IA-SDK does not support the Starter Kit as you found. Starterkit does not expose the two PRU MII required for PROFINET. You need to get an AM3359 ICEv2 (ICEV1 and IDK are old versions only and not supported with latest IA-SDK).
You may compare schematics for more details.

Hi,

The Industrial SDK cannot run on the Starter Kit. The ISDK Profinet is designed to run on the PRU cores, and these are not routed out on the Starter Kit. You will need an AM335x ICEv2 board to run this.
