Hi,

I need few clarifications on TMDSEVM572X board. Can you clarify...

1. Do MIC interface supported in this design/board ?

2. What will be the suitable/compatible audio input device to connect to this board ? please refer any device ? Need it for testing..

3. Do any PC headset or mobile headset can be used as an audio input to this board ?

Hi,

The AM572x GP EVM audio interface is described here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../AM572x_General_Purpose_EVM_HW_User_Guide The Audio Codec has a Line Out stereo output (P8) and Line In stereo input (P9). There is no microphone input.

Currently the hardware seems to be hooked up for Stereo audio input and Stereo audio output only. I used my plantronics headset mic and don`t seem to be getting any output. I believe that this might be because the TI EVM doesn`t pinout micbias from the audio codec. Passive mics like the one built into headets require a DC bias.

I will try to confirm this with the hardware team and get back to you and also try to see if I can try standalone microphones which dont need a DC bias, will work the EVM.
