AM572x booting issue

Hi,

We are using XAM5728AABCXE with PMIC TPS6590376ZWST.

We are using SD Card for booting up.

But since the PMIC is "ON" only for 7 seconds by default, the DSP is not able to boot from SD Card.

All clocks , Voltages and SD Card have been verified.

Boot pin configuration is correct for SD Card.

But when we press the power button at the PWRON pin of PMIC , we get SD Card Clock for very less time ( fraction of second).

Kindly suggest where can be the problem.

These seem correct, SD should be your first boot device. Is your system clock 20MHz? How is the SD card cage connected? Please post the relevant part of the schematic if possible.

Yes ,we are using 20 MHz and SD Card is our first booting device. Pls also suggest if we can use any other interface as first booting device.

What are the protection diodes you use on the SD card cage? Can you try removing them and test again? Otherwise the schematic seems OK.

Ok...one thing more that we are not getting DSP_SD_CLK, it just gives the pull up voltage of VDD_3V3 for 7 seconds i.e the time till PMIC is ON.
The clocks 22.5792MHz and 20 MHz are coming fine to the DSP.

Hi,

Your problem seems to be the same as mine.

1) Could you show me the UART pins you are connecting to?

2) Could you try setting to UART booting mode?
If you are connecting to correct UART pin and if your hardware design is correct, you should be getting output from UART when you tried to boot from UART.

3) Which u-boot image are you using?

Have you verified that the SD card contents is correct? If you have an EVM, can you boot it with this SD card? What software are you using?
