AM437x Starter Kit GPIO and PWM



Hi,


I would like to use the pins of the J10 header of the development board AM437x Starter Kit, but i am not having any success configuring the pins.

In order to configure the pins i add the following to .../arch/arm/boot/dts/am437x-gp-evm.dts

Then i tried to compile this file using the command:
make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-linux-gnueabihf- am437x-gp-evm.dtb

Copied the am437x-gp-evm.dtb to targetfilesystem/boot

Finally, while trying to define the pin values under /sys/class/gpio i couldn't get the right value on the J10 connector.

Could anyone explain me the right way to configure the pins multiplexer and how to activate the pwm modules? An example will be fantastic.

  • I already got control over the above pins, including the PWM. It was needed to change the /boot/uEnv.txt file.

    I think that this isn't the right way to configure this, but it worked. I just defined the pins inside &am43xx_pinmux, and then at the end i set those pins configuration with this:
