EVM DM6437 electrical questions

Hello,

I'm intending to design a  video analytic module which all its electronic components  are extracted from "The module technical reference of DM6437".

In fact, I found many difficulties to make this job. So,I have some questions and I hope that I will find the answers :

First, the board of this video analytic module has 38 mm of length and width, that's why I tried to optimize the number of components (resistance, capacitance...)  without losing

the right execution of the module.

My questions are:

I want to know what's the meaning of "NO-POP" which is found in many resistance, capacitance and inductance values.

There are some resistances which have 0, 10 and 22 Ohm as  a value. So, can I remove them from my module.

  • Components marked as "no pop" are not populated, so you should be able to remove them. Please note, however, that they were likely included initially to allow flexibility in the design. As long as you are confident that you do not need the feature that the components would enable then you can omit them completely from your design.

For the 0R components you can replace these with a direct connection. As noted above though these too were included to allow design flexibility.

For the 10ohm and 22ohm you should really leave these included in the design since they are there for a reason, probably for trace impedance matching if they are series resistors. you MAY be able to replace them with direct connections, but there is no guarantee they the design will work correctly without them. You would need to do your own board simulations to make sure that the signal integrity is OK without them included.

    BR,

    Steve
