Sitara ISDK maintenance support duration

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PRU-ICSS-INDUSTRIAL-SW

Industrial SDK has three different release for Sitara as follows.
 1) SYSBIOSSDK-IND-AM335X
 2) SYSBIOSSDK-IND-SITARA
 3) PRU-ICSS-INDUSTRIAL-SW
SYSBIOSSDK-IND-AM335X is a maintenance release. SYSBIOSSDK-IND-SITARA will transition to a maintenance release if AM335x and AM437x migrated to PRU-ICSS-INDUSTRIAL-SW in the future.
For SYSBIOSSDK-IND-AM335X and SYSBIOSSDK-IND-SITARA, is the support duration defined? How long is the remainder of the support duration?
Our customer is using SYSBIOSSDK-IND-AM335X for their some products and will continue it for their future products. They want to know till when they can continue using it. If the end of the support is planned they wish it is announced as soon as possible.
Best regards,
Daisuke
  • The ISDK team have been notified. They will respond here.
  • Hi Daisuke,

SYSBIOSSDK-IND-AM335X was the main development branch for the AM335x until the combined support for the AM335x and AM437x was provided in SYSBIOSSDK-IND-SITARA 02_01_00_01 in July of 2015. Somewhat after this date SYSBIOSSDK-IND-AM335X transitioned to a maintenance release for existing customers with, primarily, updates to existing features.
E2E technical support is and will continued to be provided for this branch. When a customer encounters an issue on an SYSBIOSSDK-IND-AM335X release , we ask them to contact their TI representative for a more in depth discussion.

Since July of 2015, SYSBIOSSDK-IND-SITARA has been, and continues to be, the active industrial software development path for all the AM335x and AM437x devices industrial features.

Regretfully - we don't have information on the future industrial software development plans. The best source for future product plan information is your TI representative.

  • Hi David-san,
    Thank you for your reply.
Our customer can continue to use SYSBIOSSDK-IND-AM335X for their future products. If they require a new feature, they can use SYSBIOSSDK-IND-SITARA and may use PRU-ICSS-INDUSTRIAL-SW in the future.
    Best regards,
    Daisuke

  • Hi Yuji

There has been an update on www.ti.com/.../sysbiossdk-ind-sitara web page on the support plan for the SYSBIOSSDK-IND-AM335X and SYSBIOSSDK-IND-SITARA and steps to take if support is required after these dates.

  • HI Kanae

The PRU-ICSS releases are being prepared. It looks as though one, Ethernet/IP, may occur during the first week in July. If there is an issue let us know via e2e and we will do our best to assist.
