Hello,

I am designing a board with a TMS320C6747 and I have the following question related to USB (I am using only USB0):

The DSP will be always in slave mode.

1. How to connect the VBUS pin? Pull-up to the local 5.1V?

2. How to connect the 5V from the connector?

3. Can I connect the Ground from the connector to my local ground on the board?

4. Do I need to use 33R resistors on the lines DM DP?

5. Can I leave DRVVBUS unconnected?

Thank you in advance, any other recommandation is welcome.

Hi,

In sprufm9g, it is said to connect USB0_VBUS to 5V if we are in host or peripheral only mode.:

USB0_VBUS A I/O/Z 5 volt input that signifies that VBUS is connected. The OTG section of the PHY can also
pull-up/pull-down on this signal for HNP and SRP. For device or host only mode of
operation, pull-up this pin to 5V with an external 1K ohm resistor. For host mode of
operation, pull-up the USB power signal on the USB connector to 5V also. For mixed
host/device mode of operation, tie this to the charge pump.

Does this mean that we have to pulled-up it to a "fixed" 5V on the board or should we connect it to the VBUS pin of the USB connector?

Oliviier,

If you are only going to be in peripheral mode, you should be able to connect VBUS to the USB connector.
