CCS/CC1310: TI-RTOS "System Overview" apparently not working under new CCSv7 install

Hi folks-

After installing CCSv7, with a previous install of TI-RTOS 2.21 for CC13xx/26xx on my system (which the CCSv7 installer appears to have detected), I tried creating a new CC1310F128 project. When I open the TI-RTOS config file for editing, in the GUI configurator ("TI-RTOS" tab as opposed to "cfg Script" tab), the "System Overview" button does not work. You can click it but it goes nowhere. In CCSv6.2 I would see a graphical view of the TI-RTOS components and could click to import/enable or configure them as necessary.

(Note that Microsoft Game DVR seems to show the mouse cursor a tad higher than it actually was, so it looks like I'm clicking above the link when in fact I was clicking on the link... strange bug in the video recorder)

Eric,

Was the project an existing project that you exported from CCSv6.2?

I was able to import the Empty Example project for the CC1310 and access the GUI for System Overview in CCSv7.

If you are able to access the System Overview GUI using the Empty Example, try pasting in the other project contents to see if the problem persist.

This is a new project, so no. Next I'll try blowing away the TI-RTOS install and reinstalling it for kicks...

Okay I deleted the TI-RTOS folder in C:\ti, started CCS, let it remove its references to it & restart, closed CCS, installed TI-RTOS again, started CCS, let it discover & install its references and restart CCS, then imported an Empty TI-RTOS example ..... and I still can't get the System Overview screen. I click it and nothing happens, then the "System Overview" link goes light-blue in the top of the window (along with "Welcome" which is already light-blue). I can try clicking on them all I want and nothing happens.

Eric,

Did XDC Tools also get detected and installed? If so, which version of XDC Tools are you using?

Edit: You may check this by navigating in CCS to Window > Preferences > Code Composer Studio > Products.

Looks like the project creator is choosing XDCtools 3.32.0.06_core by default, but, there is a 3.32.1.22_core available.

So I just tried creating another test project, choosing the newer 3.32.1.22_core XDCtools, and I'm still seeing the same behavior (System Overview link doesn't do anything).

Eric,

Do any other GUI elements work such as the menu items in Available Products? What about the items on the right hand side, Bios, Task, etc.

I still am unable to reproduce the issue. I am using a Windows 10.

Hi Derrick,

I am also running CCS V7.0 on a win7 machine. I am having the same issue. When I click system overview in the cfg gui, there is nothing happened. I can navigate through other items, like bios, task, Swi, Hwi.

My project is a newly created empty_min. I also tried empty project without luck. The target is a TM4C123GXL board. There is no issue to compile and run the project though.

Eric,

A current work around is to install GMF Runtime. Try downloading the GMF Runtime plugin here.

Paste the contents of the "plugins" folder into <CCS INSTALL DIR>/eclipse/plugins.
