is it possible to allow all kinds of packets when setting up PA SS in the pa_emacExample for arm, i.e. no filters on ip mac and port?

Hi,

The PA SS setups L2, L3 and L4 filtering. The L3 and L4 can be disabled and with L2 filtering only. Matching packets from L2 classification can be sent to host. You want to receive all kinds of packets to host even don't care about MAC? Can you clarify your usage case?

i am trying to replicate the pa emac example into a packet sniffer of a sort ... can simply substituting 0 in src and dest mac/ip/port (in setup PASS funtion) make it an all pass?

Hi,

The design of PA is to use firmware to offload CPU when processing packets, the PA has L2/L3/L4 classification to sort out the packets to host. If you want to use PA as a network sniffer to receive all the network packets, this is not usage case. The pass 1 LUT 0 is for L2 MAC address classification, it only has 64 entries.
