AM3358: EtherCAT and Ethernet without PRU

Hi,

as I am currently developing on the Beaglebone, switching to a different solution soon (e.g. MitySOM), I was wondering which Pins of the AM3358 are really required for my application.

For most of the things it's pretty clear, but concerning the EtherCAT and Ethernet I would like to have on my product I am not 100% sure.

I understand, that the "normal" Ethernet ports on the AM335x can already be used for an EtherCAT master and that it is not necessary to use the PRU for this.

Since the AM335x has a dual port switch included, is it possible to use the Port for EtherCAT and Ethernet at the same time?

By reading this forum, I leaned that it should be possible to run Ethernet on the "normal" port and use the PRU as EtherCat master. The posts describing this are from 2013, saying that there might be a SDK update for using Ethernet (and EtherCAT master) on the PRU. Is this software available yet?
