DM385: IPNC Sensor_test Uboot

Hi Experts,

We are using Custom DM385 with IPNC 3.5 rdk.

1. Is it possible to load VPSS firmware from uboot for start camera early?

2. In uboot -> cmd_autotest.c -> Sensor_test() its configure sensor. what purpose include this in uboot ?

    Hi Raj,


    Yes it is possible to load the M3 VPSS firmware from U-boot but there is a kernel module Syslink which takes care of loading the M3 VPSS binaries and also takes care of Inter Processor communication between the cores A8 and M3. If you load from U-Boot you may not be able to setup IPC between A8 and M3 VPSS. So it is advised to load the M3 firmware from Linux. If you want to start camera early then boot time optimization techniques are there which will help you to achieve this.
