TMS320C6713B: mc asp1 hf clock issue

Part Number: TMS320C6713B

After a recent board redesign we encountered a strange issue with the mc asp1 hf clock. Mc asp1 is in slave mode, both xmit and receive clocks tied together and sourced externally at 12.288mc.

With several of the tested boards we encountered mc asp1 errors, indicating both hf clock above high limit and below lower limit. Limits are set +/- 20% in software.

Errors where also temperature depending, so obviously something was critical.

When exchanging the 12.288 mc clock buffer circuit for a faster device, rise time went from 8ns back to 5ns and the errors disappeared. So obviously the mc asp is sensitive for this parameter.

There is no spec for minimum risetime in the c67 datasheet. Any one ever encountered this issue before?
