RTOS/TMS320C6748: device drivers for C6748 and tools

Part Number: TMS320C6748

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hello

We start using the C6748 chip in our new project. from the TI web site, we were refer to use the bios_c6sdk

I downloaded the sdk and start testing the drivers examples in the psp folder. all the drivers in the example are implemented using GIO model. when I looked at the latest dsp/bios v6.46 user guide it mentions that the GIO model is deprecated and is not compatible with TI-RTOS drivers.

Is there are drivers for the C6748, compatible to the new TI-RTOS driver framework (as described in SPRUHD4)?

As mention I started to use the bios_c6sdk, in its user manual it is mention to use the CCS5.1, for new project is it recommended to use the CCS5.1 with the C6748 or use newer platform like the CCS6 or CCS7?, is the exampleS exist in the psp folders will work on CCS6/CCS7?

Best Regards

Ilan

  • Hi Ilan,

No, the GIO-based drivers for C6748 have not been ported forward to the newer TI-RTOS driver framework.

You should use CCS v5.1.  That was the last CCS release which BIOS_C6SDK was tested with.  I think there were IDE changes in CCS v6 that are incompatible with the tooling components in that last BIOS_C6SDK release.

    Best regards,
    Scott
