AM5728: GPMC CLE signal issue

Hello,

AM5728 GPMC is configured for NAND interface.There is not toggling on CLE, it is always low.

Please let me know what could be the reason?, no short on the signal.

Hi Biser,

Couple of questions..

1. sysboot setting are for nand boot, and nand is not flashed with code (i.e empty).In this case does the ROM code send reset to NAND?
2. In one of the custom board ALE is always low, what could be the reason?

1. Yes.
2. This sounds like an board assembly issue or defective component.

Thanks Biser.

I couldn't see any toggling on ctrls and data on GPMC/NAND after power up. All the ctrls are at high.So, I think there was no reset from ROM code?
Please suggest how to debug on this.

These seem correct. Is your clock frequency 20MHz? Please check if everything on your board meets the guidelines in section 33.3.7.4 from the AM572x TRM Rev. H.

The NAND device in use is MT29F1G16ABBDAHC-IT.
Once booted from UART then NAND read/write is happening but no NAND boot.

OK, have you programmed the NAND as described here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Linux_Core_U-Boot_User's_Guide

Also note that you must set the ECC as described here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Linux_Core_NAND_User's_Guide The ECC scheme must correspond to your NAND page size.
