Hi, I'm using AM4377 to make a motor drive.

I want to run a PROFIBUS stack on AM4377.

But there is no example in SYSBIOS_IND_SDK_02.01.03.02.

How to import the PROFIBUS DP example to AM4377?

Because the AM437x IDK board doesn't have a RS-485 or fiber-optic or Manchester Bus Power (MBP) media interface there is not an application example for Profibus on the AM437. It should be possible to port the AM3359 ICEv2 ARM code and to the AM437x and use the existing PRU firmware - but this is not yet been tested.

It is important to mention that the Profibus master and the Profibus slave examples ICSSM. On the AM437x ICSSM is also used to support the industrial Ethernets such as EtherCAT, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, etc. This prevents the AM437x famly from supporting and industrial Ethernet and Profibus simultaneously. This also prevents the AM437x from supporting a Profibus Master and a Profibus slave simultaneously. In these cases it is necessary to move to an AM57x device.

I want to port PROFIBUS DP slave stack in AM4377.

Don't I have to change the existing PRU firmware to port PROFIBUS DP slave stack on AM4377?

Hi Yong-kyoung

The PRU-ICSS firmware is expected to be the same for the AM335x PRU-ICSS0 and the AM437x PRU-ICSS-1 because they are the same architecture (referred to as PRU-ICSS-M).
However their starting address will be different in each SOC.
AM335x 0x4A300000
AM437x 0x54400000

The PRU addresses and the addresses of their subcomponents are defined in
{IA_SDK_HOME}\example\profibus_master\slave\include\profi_appl_config.h which defines the memory configuration for the application based upon the SOC and the board
