Hi All,

I have a strange behavior with DM6467T video encoder,

The API VIDENC1_process() returns status -1 continuously (which is general failure according to documentation)

this is happening when there is sudden complex Test-Pattern displayed after dark on input source

FYI:

i tried with VBR and CBR but in vain

please help me, how to overcome this issue ? what can we do if above process returns -1 (apart fro exit ?)

the encode engine is used to encode 720p@50 fps

venc-parms :

encodingPreset : XDM_DEFAULT , IVIDEO_STORAGE(vbr), max-framerate 30000, maxBitRate 10000000, dataEndianness XDM_LE_32 , maxInterFrameInterval 0 ,

inputChromaFormat XDM_YUV_420SP, inputContentType IVIDEO_PROGRESSIVE, reconChromaFormat XDM_CHROMA_NA

dynamic parameters:

intraFrameInterval - 30 , generateHeader XDM_ENCODE_AU, interFrameInterval 1, mbDataFlag 0

please let me know if you need specific info

Please refer User guide for the settings. I think this condition is failed in your case. targetFrameRate <= maxFrameRate. maxFramerate should be greater than/equals to targetFrameRate.

the issue is occured only with specific complex test patterns only, it is working smoothly with normal pattersn and videos.

Can you please share the error code when VIDENC1_process returns -1. Also try reducing the bitrate. set it to 5mbps

please let me know which error code you want me to share ? also how reducint bitrate to 5mbps helps ?

as we need minimum bitrate w*h*MF(4)*fps*0.07 comes more than 10Mbps for 720p@50 video

Hi Nagendra,
Please refer user guide page 4-18: it briefs about the bit rate settings. I wanted to see, outargs extended error, and the errorcode from XDM_GETSTATUS call.
