YUV422I Font (TDA2x)

In our application, we render YUV422I video as an output on TDA2x EVM.

(i.e) Display Output Format: YUV422I.

On top of output image/video, we would like to display few parameter values in YUV422I format.

(1) Do you have YUV422I font file? If so, can you provide us the same?

(2) If YUV422I font file is not available, could you please let me know the procedure to add YUV422I fonts on image/video?

Hi,

We don't have fonts in YUV format. We use Grpx pipeline for displaying fonts and grpx pipeline uses RGB format. Why do you need to use YUV for fonts? can you use RGB format? RGB format is supported even on display video pipelines..

YUV420SP fonts available in the vision SDK package as below.

VISION_SDK_02_10_00_00\vision_sdk\examples\tda2xx\src\draw2d\draw2d_font10_yuv
VISION_SDK_02_10_00_00\vision_sdk\examples\tda2xx\src\draw2d\draw2d_font11.yuv
VISION_SDK_02_10_00_00\vision_sdk\examples\tda2xx\src\draw2d\draw2d_font12_yuv
VISION_SDK_02_10_00_00\vision_sdk\examples\tda2xx\src\draw2d\draw2d_font13_yuv

We have a draw plugin where we draw some information on input image. Since some parameters to be displayed is already available to draw plugin. We prefer to directly write those parameter values on input image and then pass it to display.

We don't prefer RGB as these parameters again needs to be sent to graphics layout which might add little latency.

Hi Socrates,

In SDK, we are using only RGB planes for displaying different text. But the looks like, fonts are available even for YUV420 format.
You could directly copy these fonts or DMA fonts to display text. You could use graphics link, which copies RGB fonts on RGB planes as reference.
