TMS320C6678: C6678 Preferred SDK

Part Number: TMS320C6678

I have just begun working with the TMDSEVM6678LE eval board and I can't find any place where it outright states which is the preferred SDK. The ones I know of are the four that are on the Forum Usage Guidelines post:

1. Processor SDK RTOS
2. MCSDK (Multicore Software Development Kit)
3. Desktop Linux SDK
4. MCSDK Video

I don't intend to be working on video project or Linux, so which out of the first two should I be devoting my time?

Near the bottom of that post it has a link for MCSDK to PDK migration so I have a feeling my answer would be that the PDK is my best bet. I'm being overwhelmed by all this information so any help would really be appreciated.

  • Zeke,

Processor SDK RTOS is the preferred SDK for this device. MCSDK and MCSDK Video are legacy software offerings on this device and are no longer being maintained or developed.

the Processor SDK RTOS for C6678 has all the relevant software that you need for mutli-core DSP development on these parts as well as device drivers to access the peripherals. Please review the offering and let us know if you have any questions regarding the offering.

    Regards,
