RTOS/CC1310: TI-RTOS(BIOS) rebuild procedure

Part Number: CC1310
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSBIOS, CC1350, CC2650

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hi,

I am trying to rebuild SYS/BIOS in TI-RTOS as per the procedure mentioned in the TI-RTOS user guide,
but don't know whether the source code is actually rebuilt.

The final output says all files complete as shown below,
but the actual source files are not updated and it won't show any errors
even if I add error code in the source file...

We want to modify Semaphore.c inside the bios folder, but even if there is a
syntax error in the source, the BIOS rebuild output don't show any error.

Would like to know if the BIOS rebuild really shows errors in the source file?

Best Regards
Kummi

  • Some of the files are actually built when the application gets built. When I added a #error into ti/sysbios/knl/Semaphore.c and then built the application and this shows up in the build

    "C:/ti/bios_6_45_00_20/packages/ti/sysbios/knl/Semaphore.c", line 151: fatal error: #error directive: This is an error in Semaphore.c

  • Just realized you are on CC1350. This only works if you don't use the kernel in ROM. Obviously you can rebuild the ROM image. If you remove the following, the kernel will be in flash. Here are the lines in the .cfg that control whether to use the kernel in ROM or build it and put it in flash.

    /* ================ ROM configuration ================ */
    /*
    * To use BIOS in flash, comment out the code block below.
    */
    var ROM = xdc.useModule('ti.sysbios.rom.ROM');
    if (Program.cpu.deviceName.match(/CC26/)) {
    ROM.romName = ROM.CC2650;
    }
    else if (Program.cpu.deviceName.match(/CC13/)) {
    ROM.romName = ROM.CC1350;
    }
