AM4378: USB0 Zero Ohm resistor on Starter Kit

Hello,

Let me confirm purpose of 0ohm in USB #0, page 13 of 19 of AM437x Starter Kit EVM?

My understandings are following, am I right?

1. Even though USB0_Port has capability of USB OTG and attached USB_MicroAB, current AM437x Starter Kit USB0_Port is fixed as "AM437x:Host", because ID pin is connected with GND through 0ohm, R706.
2. If I want to use USB0_Port as USB OTG, then I need to remove the 0ohm, equally ID pin is opened. Then which AM437x:Host or AM437x:Device will be controlled with inserted cable of MicroA or MicroB.

Hi,

I don't know which schematic you are looking at. R706 is marked as DNI (do not insert) on the PDF schematic.

In other words, AM437X Starter Kit EVM Schematic will be updated as DNI for following resister R706, right?

This resistor is not mounted on the Starter Kit board.

My question is not whether Starter Kit board has resister.

My question is whether schematic of Starter Kit will be updated in the future.

I think you provide schematic as TI Designs as reference. Therefore BOM has DNI is not for answer as TI Designs.

The schematic will be updated if/when there is a new board revision. As for your comments:

This is not correct. The schematic is only one part of a reference design. BOM and layout files are also integral parts of the design. These are all available publicly on the product page: http://www.ti.com/tool/TMDXSK437X#Technical Documents
