66AK2L06: TCIEVM2LX DSP No Boot Mode

In the TCIEVM2LX Tech. Ref. Manual, there is an option for "DSP No Boot".

However in the 66AK2L06 User's Manual (Table 9-1 DEVSTAT Boot Mode Pins...) there is no "DSP No Boot".

Since I have a custom board designed around a 66AK2L06, I don't have anything to boot and just want to connect to one of the cores via the CCS debugger.

What bits are set in the DEVSTAT register that correspond to the DSP No Boot mode set in the EVM?

Hi,

I am adding the hw designers to elaborate on this.

However you can use the EVM as a reference. See how the switches of the TCIEVM2LX configure the sysboots & copy the configurations in your custom board.

The problem with the EVM is that the 4 bootmode switches go to an FPGA and the FPGA generates the necessary bits for the K2L. I'd have to root through HDL code to try and figure out what the FPGA is doing.

I would expect that anyone who is designing a custom board would have to deal with setting the 16 Bootmode pins on the chip.

Any insight here would really be appreciated.

Yes, you're correct. However I am not that familiar with the K2L designs. I've notified the hw team to elaborate on this.

Well, I poked around the FPGA code and found what I was looking for... the correct DEVSTAT bootmode bit settings for No DSP boot mode.
I'll give this a go and see what happens.
