TMDSIDK437X: Connecting external SPI device

Hi Biser,
Thanks for reply, I am refering "processors.wiki.ti.com/.../AM437x_IDK_EVM_HW_User_Guide" on this link it says that pin no 24 of J16 has "PWM 0A Signal".
correct me if i am wrong so this signal "PWM 0A Signal" is default signal on J16 connector and when i configure for spi interface will it get automatically routed to "SPI0_SCLK" .

It would be help full if you provide me configuration example ?

I want to use TI RTOS and write a task to read SPI data. can you provide configuration for SPI0.

            Thanks , that helped much , Now I am running RTOS DIG tool on AM437x IDK,

I get test pass except one "MCSPI TEST". I just want to know is there any external connection required for MCSPI TEST ?

Hi,

Please try "AM437x IDK EVM: Short pins 1 and 2 on header J1(Industrial I/O)" to see if you can pass the MCSPI test.

              Shorting pins 1 and 2 on header J1 worked well. I get received data "1".

For my more clarity if transmitted data is "aa"  so how could i see data received "aa" instead of "1" ?

From the main_mcspi_test.c:

*  \details This application will read the input data generated from the

*           industrial input module. The data will be read through MCSPI

*           interface. This application will read one byte of data from the

*           industrial input module. To generate the data from the industrial

*           input module, first load signal has to be asserted using the

*           gpio pins. On the IDK EVM, in the header J37, short the pins

*           1 and 2. This should generate an input "0x01" and the same should

*           be read through the MCSPI interface.

*           The received data will vary based on the shorting of pins:

*           Default input(no pins are shorted)   :  received data - 0x00

*           Pins 1 and 2 shorted                 :  received data - 0x01

*           Pins 3 and 4 shorted                 :  received data - 0x02

*           Pins 5 and 6 shorted                 :  received data - 0x04

*           Pins 7 and 8 shorted                 :  received data - 0x08

*           Pins 9 and 10  shorted               :  received data - 0x10

*           Pins 11 and 12 shorted               :  received data - 0x20

*           Pins 13 and 14 shorted               :  received data - 0x40

*           Pins 15 and 16 shorted               :  received data - 0x80

I looked at the AM437x IDK evm schematic:

Short pin 1 and 2 make it high.

There is a chip SN65HVS882 in between industry input pins and MCSPI. http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/slas601/slas601.pdf I think the chip make the data to 0x1, 0x2, 0x4 .... depending on which pins on J1 are shorted.
