AM3358: Programming SPI flash via UART

Is there a tool that would support using the AM335x internal bootloader to load an image via the serial port and program SPI flash, which would then be used for subsequent boot-up? From what I've found the Uniflash tool can do this flashing but only via Ethernet or USB connections. This would be used for the initial programming of the board as well as for subsequent firmware updates.

I want to be able to program my application into the SPI flash. The examples with uniflash etc, make use of either USB or ethernet and then BOOTP to transfer a loader (based on uboot) then uboot runs on the target processor to do tftpboot transfers of a concatenated image.

For some of the other TI processors there was a flashtool that could program NAND flash on a target board after transferring it from a host PC via a serial port.

My question is: Is there a utility that can make use of the serial port to download code a target am335x board's SPI flash?

It will be an RTOS, not Linux.

We have a tool called serial flashing tools that was created to support OMAPL138 family of devices. This is not support on AM335x.

Uniflash is the only production flashing option available for this device other than the flashing application that can be loaded over emulator that are described here:

You can explore booting the flashing application over UART and have the production boot binary images included as a header file to program the flash.
