TMS320DM365: question on keyscan

Part Number: TMS320DM365

Hi,

DM36x supports 4x4 or 5x3 keyscan. My customer only needs 3x3 key board and he wants to know if he can configure two keyscan pins (keyA3/keyB3) to GPIO and if this will effect the keyscan function.

I think there is no problem for GPIO operation after pinmux setting. But I am not sure when the keyscan pins are configured as GPIO, what's the status of the path which connected to these two keyscan pin in internal keyscan module. Will it keep a fix status or it will change by the real pins?

Would you pls help to check when keyA3/keyB3 pins are configured as GPIO, will it effect the keyscan function when they toggle high or low?

  • Hi,

If you configure the pins as GPIO, it will not affect the Keyscan functionality.  You have to make sure that MUX settings are correct and Keyscan module shouldn't use those pins which are used as GPIO.

Please note that, GIO's used for Keyscan module doesn't support interrupt, which need to be taken care before designing application & board.

    Thanks
