AM571X: H.264 video encoding

We have a requirement of encoding video data using H.264 encoder. We are planning to perform this encoding using Sitara AM571x by taking video data through VIP. Using Sitara AM571x, is it possible to convert video data from RGB to YUV or YUV to RGB?

Video processing is done in the Video Processing Engine, which is described in section 10 of the AM571x TRM Rev. D. The VPE Linux driver is described here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Linux_Core_VPE_User's_Guide

Thanks for the reply. I have checked VPE block by downloading the TRM.
Can you please tell, is there any module on the AM5718 SoC which performs H.264 encoding(i.e H/W component which will perform H.264 encoding).

We are planning to use TMDXIDK5718 - AM571x Industrial Development Kit (IDK).

The IVA-HD subsystem is a set of video encoder and decoder hardware accelerators. The list of supported codecs can be found in the software development kit (SDK) documentation. Please note that the IVA-HD is available on AM5718, but not on AM5716.

As for the AM571x IDK, you should be aware that it is supported only by the Linux-RT and RTOS Processor SDK.

I have opened the Software Developer’s Guide(SDG) link ( processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Sitara_Linux_Software_Developer’s_Guide ) and checked in the links provided under "Sitara Linux SDK" table, but couldn't find the required information for Sitara.

Can you please direct me to the correct link for Sitara software development kit (SDK) documentation.

Documentation can be found on the SDK download page: software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html under the "AM57xx Linux SDK Documentation" section. Look in the Software Manifest.
