TMS320C6713B: TMS320C6713 DSK question

Part Number: TMS320C6713B

Dear Sir,

I would like to develop a DSP board using TMS320C6713B. I first read the schematic of TMS320C6713 DSK and find the designators over 200 on those schematics are not included because they are related to Spectrum Digital's embedded JTAG emulator. I would like to know if we remove all parts with designators over 200 and not using the embedded JTAG emulator, will the device still function?

    Chengyuan,

    This is a very old device with limited support.  Have you considered use of a newer device that has enhancements in power and cost savings and / or newer DSP architectures?  If you are starting a new DSP design, I would point you to a device in the C667x family of devices containing the C66x DSP cores supporting both fixed and floating point instructions.  If you must remain with the older C67xx devices and you are not able to work with Spectrum Digital, I recommend that you take one of their EVMs, remove the unwanted components and verify desired operation.
