Part Number: BEAGLEBK
Tool/software: Starterware
Hello,
In an effort to learn more about the AM335x, I followed instructions in the "Quick Start Guide StarterWare 02.00.XX.XX (supports AM335x)" and "Starterware: BeagleBone Black Support" documents.
I installed Code Composer Studio 7 and applied the changes as per page 1 and 2 of the support document. In order to run the demo application I referred to http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Quick_Start_Guide_StarterWare_02.00.XX.XX_(supports_AM335x) as directed in the support document.
I noticed that the set up requirements in this document refer to the mini USB port as being connector P3, whereas on the BBB it is P4. I assume this document refers to an earlier BeagleBone board.
When I boot the BBB from on board storage, Windows 7 enumerates. In Device Manager, Linux USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget appears under Network adapters, BEAGLEBONE under Portable Devices, and Gadget Serial under Ports.
Prior to installing BONE_D64.exe, when I booted the BBB off the SD Card, "AM335x USB" would appear for a few seconds, and then disappear, only to reappear again shortly afterwards.
After installing BONE_D64.exe, when booting from SD Card, nothing appears in the Windows Device Manager which relates to the BBB.
In the document named "StarterWare_02.00.01.01_BBB.pdf" I read the following. "You can follow the following steps either on Windows or on Linux to add a support for BeagleBone Black in the existing StarterWare installation" . These instructions have not worked for me, and even though I have spent much time searching this forum and the internet in general, I have not been able to get this bootloader example working. I can only assume that I have missed something important.
I am hoping that someone is able to assist me to resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance.
