Team, can you please help answer question for my customer:

1. Ideally we would like to run Linux. Out of the box we plan on using QT to run the touchscreen display and down the road we are looking to add a web server. So access to the open source world is important.

a. Can we use the PRU-ICSS components to handle EtherNET/IP while having the main ARM processor run Linux? Or do we have to use SYSBIOS to make use of the PRU-ICSS?

2. If the answer to question 1.a is we have to run SYSBIOS…

a. Can we run QT 5.7 OPENGL on SYSBIOS?

Theoretically yes it's possible that you put the EtherNET/IP protocol on host ARM processor with Linux and offload packet processing in PRU-ICSS, but this is not in our current roadmap. We are evaluating timelines for it so it can be put in our roadmap.

We don't have feasibility study about QT 5.7 OPENGL on SYSBIOS, it doesn't seem a trivial effort.
