I am looking to synchronize time for two tiva boards (lets say lauchpad EVK) with IEEE 1588.

Would you please point at resources, examples/appnotes to do the same. I have EK 1294XL EVK with the chip whose part number is stated above.

Hi Pavrita,
Which clocks were you thinking of synchronizing? SYS/BIOS has a Seconds module which can be used to keep track of time. It generates a time() function, that can be used to return the seconds elapsed since 1970. Is this the sort of time you wanted to synchronize?

Hi

I basically want to have time stamping enabled, not synchronizing system clocks! I want to be able to use IEEE 1588 to do this. By time I mean something like an application where there are a number of Tiva boards on ethernet and IEEE 1588 then serves as a means of synchronizing the global or absolute time between the nodes.
