Configuring C6472 PLL registers with HPI

Should I configure C6472 PLL1 registers with HPI ?

SPRS612D says YES (section 2.4.1, page 17, paragraph 1, lines 7-8).
SPRU806A says NO (section 3.1, page 9, paragraph 2)

  • Greg,

It's not straight forward in this case.  The PLL Documentation is generic and across multiple devices and multiple PLL interfaces per device, and in general the HPI and PCI should not be used to directly program the PLL interfaces.

For C6472 Specifically, and PLL1 specifically it is permitted for the HPI to program the PLL1 interface to allow for improved HPI booting speeds.

    Best Regards,

    Chad
