AM3352: Point to point RGMII

Hi,

I haven't been able to find a definite answer to this, and I suspect the answer is no, but I would like to find confirmation. Is it possible to do a direct point to point connection to another device over RGMII? In my case the other device is a Xilinx Zynq (processor side). 

Obviously both devices were behave as the MAC master  for an RGMII interface. I guess a MAC-MAC connection is not supported for RGMII, I can find no reference to that in the spec not surprisingly.

Instead, is it possible for the AM3352 to behave as a PHY? I have asked the same question of the Zynq and been told the answer is no.
