Linux/AM3358: Audio issue with suspend operation

Hi,

I've run into an issue with our AM3358 based board, we use a tlv320aic3111 codec for audio which works fine under normal operation however if I suspend the platform (using the supplied pm_suspend.sh) when the device is re-woken the audio no longer plays correctly, the audio is garbled in some way.

We are using the processor SDK v1.03 and do not have an option to move to a newer version, I have checked SDK v3 and the issue does not seem to arise in it. I'm not sure if a bug was spotted at some point here but it would be very helpful if you could point me in the right direction...

Hi Micheal,

It should be useful for investigation of the issue to attach linux kernel log ("dmesg" command output) in a text file when the issue has been observed.

Unfortunately the kernel doesn't give any error message etc. I have attached the dmesg log for a boot, audio play, suspend, wakeup, audio play.4520.dmesg output.txt

Micheal,

The power management issues are very complicated because there are many dependencies. If there is no option to use the last SDK version where the issue does not appear I'll suggest you to try to use only the last version of the tlv320aic31xx driver from:
www.ti.com/.../tlv320aic31xxsw-linux
but this does not guarantee the success.
