Part Number: TMDSSK3358

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,
The SDK :ti-processor-sdk-linux-am335x-evm-3.02.00.05
HW Platform: TMDSSK3358
I don't want Matrix to run on boot up,so based on the web http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Matrix_Users_Guide?keyMatch=matrix&tisearch=Search-EN  ,from the console I typed the following commands:
cd /etc/rc5.d
mv S97matrix-gui-2.0 K97matrix-gui-2.0
But after reboot,it still started the matrix-gui-2.0 on boot up.
.........
[ OK ] Started telnetd.service.
Starting busybox-udhcpd.service...
Starting thttpd.service...
[ OK ] Started busybox-udhcpd.service.
[ OK ] Started thttpd.service.
Starting rng-tools.service...
[ OK ] Started rng-tools.service.
Starting matrix-gui-2.0.service...
[ OK ] Started matrix-gui-2.0.service.
Starting parse-ip.service...
Starting thermal-zone-init.service...
[ OK ] Started thermal-zone-init.service.
................
So how I can stop the matrix on boot up,thanks.

Best wishes

  • Hi,

There is a systemd service that calls the /etc/init.d/matrix-gui-2.0 script, so you can rename that file & the service won't be able to execute it.

  • Hi,

Thank you for your reply, now I have stopped running the Matrix-gui-2.0 on boot up.

After boot up,there are a background image and a horizontal bar with date and clock on the top of the LCD.

When I run my Qt application , and I found the horizontal bar was still on the top of the LCD which I do not want to.

I want to stop running  the background image and the horizontal bar on boot up, I need a clean background ,so which service I should stop  on boot up and how to set ?Thank you.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi yuan,

That's part of the weston (desktop-shell). Does your application use weston (is it a weston client?)

if not you can just stop weston the same way you did matrix-gui, remove or rename /etc/init.d/weston
In case you want weston to run but change the back-ground/panel-location modify these options in the file /etc/weston.ini

    background-image=file
    background-type=tile
    panel-location=top

Refer to below page for more detailed description of options
    manpages.ubuntu.com/.../weston.ini.5.html
