AM3357: ETG1500 and ETG2100 question

Part Number: AM3357

Hi, Everyone

I have a question about AM3357x.

My customer develop AM3357 for slave of EtherCAT.

According to ETG1500 and ETG2100,It is defined the cycle, task ID,
transfer frame length, and so on for each cycle in the ENI file to use this function.

My customer think Master need some sofware.
Can you tell me if you have to repspond to something for AM3357.

Best Regards
Hiroyasu

  • Hi,

the EtherCAT experts have been notified. They will respond here.
  • Hiroyasu-san, I am confused with your question. Which EtherCAT master are they using? Maybe, what you customer needs is EtherCAT slave ESI file? which EtherCAT slave version and SDK is your customer using (PROCESSOR-SDK, Industrial SDK)?

    thank you,
    Paula
  • Hi, Paula-san

    Thank you for your reply.
and I'm sorry. I was late.

My question is about AM3357 of EtherCAT slave.
and My customer use ISDK v1.1.0.8. for slave .

I would like to know about the specifications that users must do for these specifications.
We guess we do not need it in particular for slave of AM3357.
I want to make sure it is correct.

    Thank you for your support

    Best Regards

  • Hi Hiroyasu-san,

quoted specs are for EtherCAT master and network descriptions. So for slave implementation they should not be relevant.
Once customers integrate a slave into a system they may need to provide data as input for the higher layers (e.g. min cycle time of the device).

Obviously a master may use the network description to access and verify the network. However this is first of all a master stack/application question and as such not to be answered by us. In addition real systems may use any other method for this if they are not following the standard strictly here... Many masters can work with ENI files created by Beckhoff software for example but that is again outside the scope of our expertise.

  • Hi, Frank
