AM3358: Reset circuit implementation

We have a custom board based on the AM3358 and is very similar to the Beaglebone Black. I have attached the relevant schematic for the reset circuit.

We would like to implement a scheme where a long press of the switch SW2 is detected and we can implement a "Factory Reset".

The state of the reset signal can be read through GPIO0_31. However the issue is that as soon as the switch SW2 is activated than we reset the system.

Is there any scheme that you can suggest to help implement this? Any examples that we could look to?

Hi,

Your N_RESET signal is connected to the AM335x Warm Reset input. This will cause a warm reset of the device as soon as a falling edge is detected on N_RESET.

I want to check if the signal on GPIO0_31 (RST_SW in our circuit) is still low 10 seconds or so after the N_RESET has been asserted. How could I do that?

As long as you have N_RESET connected to the AM335x Warm Reset input, the device will always reset. You need to break this connection.
