Hi,

I have one question regarding AM5728 POH data.

According to Table5-3 of AM5728DS(SPRS953B), POH is specified in it.

But this table is written only POH(Lifetime) when junction temp(Tj) are 100degC and 105degC.
My customer would like to know the POH when other Junction temp.

According to note(1) of Table5-3,the below sentence is written.

(1) Unless specified in Table 5-3, all voltage domains and operating conditions are supported in the device at the noted temperatures.

Does this mean that POH covers if Junction temp is lower than specified temp in Table5-3

For example,
Extended device, OPP_HIGH, HDMI-not used, Junction temp is 95degC ----> This POH is 55K?
Extended device, OPP_HIGH, HDMI-used, Junction temp is 103degC ----> This POH is 45K?

Is my understanding right? Please let me know.

Hi,

Table5-3 gives POH limits (worst case). The note above the table states that POH is a function of voltage, temperature and time. Usage at higher voltages and temperatures will result in a reduction in POH. There is no data available for every possible combination of voltages and temperature.

If customer would like to confirm the POH with their usecase, how do they do? Are there any formula?

Dear Biser-san,

Thank you for your information. However I can't find "POH" information in reliabilityhome page of TI.

My customer would like to use the POH information for judgement of the system configuration.
For example,
In the hermetically sealed system, increasing the luminance of LCD results AM5728 junction temperature to up.
So customer would like to use the POH information for the trade off "the luminance of LCD". For this reason, customer needs the information of POH when other junction temperatres. Graph is OK.
Could you supply its information to me?

I don't need the information of Junction Temp vs Ambient temp. I would like to need the information of Junction Temp vs POH.

Biser has escalated this to us and we are talking to quality team. Junction Temperature to POH relation across all temp/use-case is not a typical offering and I do not think we can offer a model/formula to provide such guidance.

Will update this thread, once we have further guidance from quality team.

Hi Michi,
Your understanding is correct in the examples that you noted. If you maintain a lower Tj than what is specified, the next upper bound on the POH estimate chart applies. TI only provides estimates up to 100k POH. As summarized in Table 5-3 of the data manual, there are really only 3 conditions that limit the POH to less than 100kPOH. Those conditions are OPP_HIGH, use of HDMI, and use of USB or PCIe at the maximum 5Gbps rates (note 3). If none of these conditions apply to your system, then 100kPOH lifetime is estimated. If any of the conditions do apply, then the lowest POH estimate from the applicable conditions should be used.
