MT9P031 - DaVinci Interfacing

I don't have a PSP install in front of me at the moment to verify, but there are a few sensor drivers in the existing package, I believe there is at least a MT9T001 driver in there that could probably be modified to work with the MT9P031, if there is not a MT9P031 driver out of the box. In general I do not believe you should need an NDA to access the sensor drivers that we have, everything is already in the PSP install we provide. If the driver you are looking for is not already in there, perhaps you could ask your Aptina contact for more details as to where within TI you could obtain such a driver.

Well, I found the MT9T001 driver by doing a simple search around the net, but I really want to find the correct driver.

According to this post: New Binning or Skipping Mode      There is a mt9p031.c file that belongs to a driver out there somewhere. 

Aptina didn't know and now I'm on my last leg.  Does anyone know if there's a mt9p031 driver out there?  Or has anyone run into this issue and proceeded to modify the mt9t001 driver already?

I'd like to open this thread again... I should support MT9P031-cameras on a DM648-board. I use DVSDK648 and have seen that there is a MT9001_extImageSensor.c File with some basic support for the Aptina sensors. According to the post cited above there seems to be more MT9P031 support in the DM355 DVSDK. Since I dont have such a board, I also dont have the Montavista Linux which seems to be required to install the DM355-DVSDK (you can download a .bin...).

Is there a way to get the DM355-DVSDK sources without Montavista Linux or are there license issues?

Which DVSDK contains 'most' or 'the latest' support for the MT9P031?

How can I get these MT9P031-driver sources?

With regards to DM355 Micron sensor support; our Linux Drivers included in the LSP software releases at http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_registered_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/psp/index.html offer some support for MT9T001 (LSP 1.20 and 2.0) and MT9T031 (LSP 1.20 only), which are 1 MP and 3MP sensors correspondignly.  You can look at the driver data-sheet doc for details before downloading and installing the software package. 

That said, none of these releases supports MT9P031 (5M sensor).  However, leopard imaging has build hardware and software support for this sensor to interface to our DM355 boards https://www.leopardimaging.com/5M_HD_Camera_Board.html.  I believe leopard imaging also posts the software free of charge on their website, so if this is the sensor you need to support, this may be a better route.

HI Colin were you able to get any schematic to connect that CMOS  sensor with the DM355?

you can get an eval kit for the MT9P031 (by Aptina) that comes with schematics. This helps designing a camera using the MT9P031
