SpO2 MDK Code Disparities

Hello All,

Having successfully compiled the SpO2 MDK codebase (refer to the thread entitled "EVM5515 and Codegen 3.36" for details), I have encountered a disparity between the behavior of the SpO2.out file that is included with the codebase, and that which results from compiling the codebase. In essence, the file that is included with the codebase works perfectly on my 5515EVM target, whilst that which results from compiling the codebase does not. The following screenshot of the PC program shows what is going on reasonably well:

This screenshot was taken with a finger inserted in the Nellcor probe. This noise is also present when the finger is removed.

Are any other 5515EVM / SpO2 MDK users able to confirm this behavior?

I get the same thing with my finger in the sensor. I only looked at EVM LCD and the app looks ok without my finger in the sensor (red line for signal). So I'm guessing some type of AIC codec setting. Not sure if I can figure it out quickly. Will have to get with C5000 Product group member responsible for the application. He is on vacation this week.

Original application was built with Code Gen Tools (compiler) v3.3.6. That is probably the next thing to try.

I verified that build with Code Gen Tools v3.3.6 works as expected, while build with CGT v4.3.6 does not. Now I need to try and figure out what is the difference between the 2 builds.

To use CGT v3.3.6, I had to use CCSv3.3 because it was not possible to install any CGT prior to v5.4.x for CCSv4.x.

Thank you for looking into this. As I do not have access to CSS v3.3, I will wait to see what you can find out what the difference is between builds.

It may take a while to figure out what is the problem with the SpO2 application and the newer compiler releases. In the mean time, I believe you can use the v3.3.6 compiler with external make file for CCSv4. The older version of the compilers are available through this Wiki page: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Compiler_Releases.

Hello Tommy,

I am working on the pulse oximeter . I am getting the same random signal that is being shown in the screenshot. I even installed the C5500 code generation tools v3.3.6 and i am using EVM5505CCS v3.3. Even after installing the CGT v3.3.6 there is no improvement in the PPG signal. It is random and same as shown in the screen shot . After openeing the SPO2.pjt, i am being asked for stdio.h. There are lot of folders that have stdio.h. I have selected different stdio.h but still the PPG signal looks the same random signal. The SPO2 and HR are always being displayed 0. Do i need to run the SPO2.pjt on the v3.3.6? If so, i don't see that as a separate GUI.

Could you please help me in this case?

Has TI made any progress towards getting the 5.1 codebase to compile and run properly on the C5515EVM / SpO2 AFE platform?
