TMS320C6745: Reset thresh hold

Part Number: TMS320C6745

Hello,

My customer has a question about reset thresh hold on DA808. Can we understand VIH/VIL in datasheet (recommended operating conditions table) can be applicable for that ? They are wondering if some other thresh hold value might  be used because the reset pin is not actually what we call "IO". Do you have any comments on this ?

Best Regards,
Naoki

  • Hi Naoki,

Which reset threshold do you refer to? Do you mean the G3 device pad (RESET) input device reset?

If so, you can see its connection on the reference board. It is connected to BRD_RSTn, which is 3.3V.

  • Hello, Yodan

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it is /RESET pin.

I wanted to know the exact threshold voltage to invoke device reset. That is not mentioned in datasheet. I`m not very sure, but I guess it might be regarded as VIH. Can you comment on this ?

  • Hi,

See the Data Manual Section 6.4.1 Power-On Reset (POR). This signal is active low:

A power-on reset (POR) is required to place the device in a known good state after power-up. Power-On Reset is initiated by bringing RESET and TRST low at the same time.

You should connect to gnd (0V) to issue a device reset. That is why the implementation of BRD_RSTn is as follows:

I'd say that your guess is correct. The threshold levels should be around VIL/VIH.
