Linux/BEAGLEBK: UART 2 Configuration and enabling interrupt on AM335x

Hi All,

I am trying to configure the UART2 on beaglebone black and enable the interrupt to call the ISR whenever there is a keypress on picocom terminal.

But the moment I press key on picocom terminal board gets hang.

what could be the issue?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Madhu,

I suggest you to check UART2 configuration weather matching to description in AM335x TRM section 19.4.1 UART Programming Model at:
www.ti.com/.../spruh73o.pdf
Pay attention on the IER_UART Interrupt Enable Register (UART) and IIR_UART Interrupt Identification Register (UART) described in section 19.5 UART Registers.

To work Interrupts properly is setting below bit is enough? or any other registers need to be enabled/disable?

set UART_IER_RDI bit in the UART_IER register.

Should I set LCR register to 0 to enable IER?
