Hello, my question is concerning the meaning of the following statement from section 3.1.2.7 of the AM571x TRM:

"AVS must be used at boot time to adapt the voltage to the process characteristics (strong/weak) of the device and then be used continuously to compensate temperature variations."

I understand how to use AVS at boot time, but I don't understand how to "continuously" use it to compensate temperature variations. I can't tell if the statement above is indicating that I need to do something in software (perhaps periodically) to cause AVS to continuously compensate for temperature variations. Thanks for your help in clarifying this.

Hi,

What software are you using? This is normally done by the OS power management.

Hi Biser, I'm using PROCESSOR-SDK-RTOS-AM57X. Also, I'm using a fairly minimal SYS/BIOS configuration, if that makes a difference.

AM571x AVS compensates process variation only and doesn't need to update the voltage continuously for compensating temperature variations. The description highlighted in yellow will be removed in future TRM release.
