Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO
Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
I am trying to learn about the internal workings of DSPs, so I just purchased a development board from TI.
It's the TMS320C5515 ezDSP USB Stick and I downloaded the latest Code Composer Studio (Version 7.1.0.00016) on my MAC computer, running El Capitan. The compiler for my device was not installed so I wanted to install it manually.
If under "Help->Install New Software" I select "http: //software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/codegen/Updates/p2mac", then it is not available. (I'd like to know why that is. Logically, it should be here.)
If I select "http: //software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/codegen/Updates/p2linux", then it pops up as C5500 Compiler Tools 4.4.1 but when I select it and click NEXT, I get this message:
"Cannot complete the install because some dependencies are not satisfiable
com.ti.cgt.c5500.4.4.linux.feature.group [4.4.1] cannot be installed in this environment because its filter is not applicable."
And indeed, if I click on "Show only software applicable to target environment" it disappears from the list of available items.
What do I need to get up and running with my new board? I want to learn about TI's DSPs.
Thanks, Sándor
