Hi,

Does latest AM3358 EVM support 1GHz frequency?
We need to evaluate AM335x at 1GHz, what EVM options do we have?
BeagleBone Black is the only option?

    I spent some time trying to find a answer for this question, but do not have a firm answer. I was told the latest AM335x GP EVMs have -100 speed grade parts installed. However, this board was designed several years ago and before there was plans to release a 1Gig speed grade part. I have not found anyone that can confirm the Power Distribution Network (PDN) of this PCB design was validated to support the requirements for 1Gig operation. I also have not been able to determine if software configures the board to operate at 1Gig.

    I know Beagle Bone Black contains a PDN that was validated to support 1Gig operation. So this may be your best option.

    We are buying around 6 EVMs.

    Just in case I would like to know if not 1GHz,
    could we use the EVMs at 800MHz?

    I spoke with someone from our Linux software development team and was told they are running AM335x GP EVMs with AM3358BZCZ100 processors at 1GHz.

    Hi,

    Does the latest AM335x Starter Kit(TMDSSK3358) support 1GHz operating frequency?
    Due to AM335x GP EVM's delay in availability, we are looking for other options.

    The Starter Kit's wiki page mentions Upto 1GHz,
    but the actual SSK EVM (Rev 1.2B) has older versions of AM335x (XAM3359ZCZ).

    Will this be same if we order new boards?
    or does it has new versions of AM3358?

    The person responsible for building TI EVMs told me there has not been any recent builds of TMDSSK3358. So the current inventory is going to have the same devices.
