DM365 PRTCSS and sequencing power operation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65053

I have enough uncertainty about the PRTCSS of the DM365 that I need to submit my question.  The documentation is either unclear or I'm not smart enough to understand it!  Either way I need some guidance here.  I have looked all over the support pages, but most of the PRTCSS posts are unrelated to this specific issue or are too general.

It would make sense for the PRTCSS to be able to monitor an I/O line (such as a momentary pushbutton) and use a couple other I/O to sequence a power up process; for example, turn on the enable lines in the proper order (of a TPS65053).  There are enough I/O on the PRTCSS module to do that, but it's unclear if it can actually be done when the only part of the processor powered up is the PRTCSS.  Can I use the timer, sequencer, and I/O functions of the PRTCSS when the ARM and everything else on the DM365 is off?

I want to control the TPS65053 enable pins with the PRTCSS so I can switch power off to nearly everything except the PRTCSS.  This would allow me to monitor the on/off button, keep the timestamp, and execute a proper power up sequence by sequentially enabling the TPS65053.  It looks like I can configure the PRTCSS registers via the PRTCIF while the ARM is active.

So, anybody have any experience (hopefully the successful kind) utilizing PRTCSS as more than just a RTC?

Thank you,
