Hi Team,
My customer has a question about the Ducati encoder on the AM5726 and AM5728 processors shown below:
I am capturing the 4032x1008 video and sending it to the H264 ducati encoder, and I am able to stream it. In TRM it is written that DucatiH264 encoder has resolution limitation of 1080P.
Why does it accept the higher resolution?
We will be using the AM5726 instead of the AM5728 in our final board. Will the Ducati encoder in the AM5726 encode the 4032x1008 resolution ? Can you please suggest.
Please let us know if the AM5726 encoder can support the stated resolution.
Regards,
Christian
Christian,
AM5726 and AM5728 come from the same family, share most of the IPs, but AM5726 does not have IVA. I am passing this also to the expert on Multimedia....
H.264 Encoder firmware running on IVA-HD supports resolution from 96x80 to 4352 x 4096. You can find more details on encoder level capabilities in documents here -
While standalone encoder supports 4K resolution, this particular resolution is not tested at application layer in PLSDK. Only up to 1080p resolution use cases gets tested and supported on AM57xx devic.
AM5726 and AM5728 has same IVA IP. What ever you are able to get running on AM5728 will also work on AM5726.
