Hi there,

Recently I am learning a PMIC, which can be used to power up TDA2E. I have two questions about the power rail:

Why do we have so many different power rail?
Why power sequencing is required?

The answer to your questions can be pretty broad. Maybe a power experts can summarize it better here for you, however I would first get familiar really good with chapter 3 PRCM in the device Technical Reference Manual (TRM).

Hi, Dongbao Zhou,

In addition to Alex's suggestion, the approved PMICs are listed in the specific-device Data Manual. For TDA2Ex TI requires use of TPS65917 or TPS659039.

In short, sequencing the supplies manages the inrush current during power-up. Furthermore, the system requirements also specifies the sequencing. For example, a master CPU must be up and running before a slave CPU.
