RTOS/TDA3: Input condition of DSPF_sp_fftSPxSP from DSP lib

Hi Experts,

I am using the following function from DSP lib (dsplib_c66x_3_4_0_0).
DSPF_sp_fftSPxSP(N, x_sp, w_sp, y_sp, brev, 4, 0, N);
N=16

Is there any limitation on input data (x_sp array)? E.g. maximum value, minimum value, etc.

Hi Ken,

Does your use case need floating point precision of FFT ? If not then, I might want to suggest usage of the similar library on EVE which is much faster but accept 16-bit complex input.

If you need higher precision like 32-bit float, then I will have a look at the function and respond for your specific question.

DSPLIB document can be found here: \dsplib_c66x_3_4_0_0\docs

E.g., if you click DSPLIB_Users_Manual.html, then click API Reference, then a particular function say DSPF_sp_fftSPXSP() then you will find API details.

For the question you asked, since this is a single precision function and pointer is float, so the limitation would be standard 32 bit single precision floating point.

Optionally you can take a look at example code how this input data is generated in example code : \dsplib_c66x_3_4_0_0\examples\fft_sp_ex\fft_example_sp.c.
