Problem with audio on devkit8000

Hello

I am using devkit8000 with Angstrom distribution running on it. The problem  i am facing is that the board hangs whenever i am using audio.

I am using the commands :

>>arecord -t wav -c 2 -r 44100 -f S16_LE -v k    and

>>aplay -t wav -c 2 -r 44100 -f S16_LE -v k for recording and play back

The problem is that the board hangs everytime after recording or playing for about 5 seconds.I also checked playback using the mplayer.But same thing happened.

What could be the problem???How to solve this???
