66AK2L06: 66AK2L06 RSV0B pin

In the data sheet for the 66AK2L07 (SPRS930), the RSV0B pin (ball AF8) is left unconnected.

However, in the K2L EVM, schematic page 45, RSV0B/AF8 is connected to VPP1V8 and has a 0.1uf cap. attached as well.

Why the discrepancy and what is the purpose for connecting this pin to VPP1v8.

What would be the consequence of leaving this pin unconnected in a custom board design -or- must this pin be connected to VPP1v8?

    In cases of misalignment between datasheet & EVM schematics, we recommend to follow the Datasheet.
    In this case the explanation is similar to the following:

  • Can you confirm this discrepancy?? We were also facing the same issue. I tried contacting einfochips.They  suggested to contact TI via e2e forum . Following is their response

    ""The current datasheet for the K2L SoC represents the pin "AF8" is reserved (NC). During our development of the K2L EVM, we considered this pin as VPP2 (1.8V Digital I/O Power Supply) per TI's input. So, it is recommended to check with TI (e2e) for using this pin/VPP1V8 for new design/requirements""

    I presume I can completely eliminate voltage rail ""VPP1V8"" found in EVM's schematics. As per the power sequence diagram given in EVM schematics some user specific ON sequence is followed for ""VPP1V8""
